The procedure for awarding titles or certificates at the show is as follows:

JUNIOR CHAMPION: The title is awarded to the best junior dog/bitch that have received the qualification Excellent I in this class.

CAC SLO: The only dogs/bitches which can be considered for the CAC SLO are those which have been awarded Excellent I in Intermediate, Open, Working or Champion Class.

  1. CAC SLO: Awarded to the second-best dog/bitch which have been awarded Excellent II in Intermediate, Open, Working or Champion Class.

VETERAN CHAMPION: The title is awarded to the best veteran dog/bitch that have received the qualification Excellent I in this class.

BEST OF BREED: this title is awarded to the best dog/bitch from each breed. Only dogs and bitches with titles “Junior Champion”, “CAC SLO” and “Veteran Champion” can compete for this title.

BEST OF BREED GROUP: All breed champions compete for this title at shows. All breed champions are classified into ten FCI breed groups; in the final competition the selected judges select ten winners of breed groups.

BEST IN SHOW: All ten champions of breed groups compete for this honorary title.

We should come to the show properly dressed. There is no mandatory uniform, but it is an unwritten rule to show respect to the judge and not come to the show wearing a tracksuit.

We cut the dog’s hair (if we don’t know how to do it, we should take him to the dog’s groomer), cut his claws and bath him. For bathing, use a suitable shampoo and, if necessary, conditioner.

We take the dog to the show ring with the appropriate show leash – you can also buy them at the show itself. In the show ring follow the instructions of the ring steward or judge.

Above all, don’t forget – titles are not important to your dog, but the time he spends with you, so have fun and enjoy.
